Selfless lives defines us
I choose less of me daily. The value “Selfless Lives Define Us” immediately makes me think “Take Up Your Cross and Follow Me.” For me, I try to make a conscious effort to consider the needs and well-being of my family and friends before myself. It means that I look for opportunities to be a blessing to others. I believe that being selfless is central to God’s calling.
Jesus called us to “Seek first the kingdom of God…” and in order to do that, you must deny yourself. When we don’t allow self-seeking to get in the way, and we ask the Holy Spirit to lead us then God is able to use us in ways that we couldn’t come up with ourselves.
Two quick examples of others living selflessly and considerately towards my family. A couple in the church had been praying for us and gave us money because they felt we might need it. Another couple gave us homemade cookie dough just because they know I LOVE chocolate chip cookies.
Living a selfless life causes you to live with purpose. Your purpose is to be a vessel of love and service wherever you go. Living a selfless life makes you ask the question, “Will this glorify God?”
