Family and Friends!
For the last week, I have been living in my temporary home nestled between two “trap” houses here in Northwest Atlanta. Wednesday, I led a Bible study with 13 people in a neighborhood riddled with bullets. Saturday, I shared the gospel with more than 25 kids who all live below the line of poverty. Sunday, I led our diverse church to the throne to worship our king. It’s been a radical week, started with a radical call to Atlanta.
I must say, I am immeasurably blessed. You all have been such a strong support system praying, loving, encouraging, and teaching me many things. The past couple of months have been challenging to say the least. I have been excited, anxious, nervous, doubtful, etc. but here I am, in the great city of Atlanta, Georgia!
For the last two years, I have spent my spring breaks sharing the love of God to the inner city neighborhoods of Atlanta. Watching God move in the lives of all types of people has been an inspiration. This past year I heard the pastor and his wife share the personal sacrifices they have made to be obedient to the call. Their personal sacrifice to obedience became a kind of inspiration and even call to partner with God’s work here in Atlanta.
I am officially a missionary to the inner city of Atlanta. Though Riverside is making a great impact the local community can’t yet support her many efforts. Many of us can recall the tremendous impact of a youth pastor had on our lives. I am writing to begin to cast my vision with you. In an effort to fulfill my call, I need people like the ones Paul and Jesus had who made it financially possible to fulfill the call. One of my favorite passage of scripture is 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. In this passage of scripture Paul says “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” I hope this email finds you well. I look forward to speaking with you in a couple of weeks to set up a time to connect, share vision, and invite your participation.
With Faith, Hope, & Love,
